These are all very thin cross sections of different plant stems, which I have dyed with a chemical called toluidine blue and photographed through a microscope. The dye highlights the different tissues within the plant stems, and gives you these beautifully alien-looking little thingies! The one with a hole in the middle is from a dandelion. ❀
